Our research group does basic and applied research in plant ecology. We are broadly interested in understanding the mechanisms behind vegetation transformations induced by land-use changes in Transylvanian grasslands. In this respect we focus especially on the effects of litter accumulation, burning, shrub encroachment and invasion of non-native species on grassland dynamics. We perform experimental studies in climate chambers, common garden and field. Our lab offers a wide range of topics for undergraduate (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) students.
Our team member, Annamária Fenesi is currently funded by the Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation, CNCS – UEFISCDI (Project PD, PN-III-P1-1.1-PD-2016-0731). Check out our latest project HERE!
